Carillon Park Replica Mill
Carillon Park in Kettering, south of
Dayton, houses exquisitely preserved historical buildings. Among these historic structures
is a replica gristmill.
An exterior wooden waterwheel is turned by water pumped up to the flume
to emulate a functioning wheel. Inside the mill building there is a display of wooden
gears and a set of millstones. The display is based on the mill equipment found in the
Staley Mill in Miami County.
The mill building is the residence of Carillon Park's site manager. A
visit to the mill display will provide you with an exciting opportunity to see a preserved
covered bridge constructed with a rare Warren truss that spans the old Miami & Erie
Canal. Carillon Park also offers antique trains, an old school house and many authentic
historic structures.
